Our Home Town

We travel back in time to view “Wauwatosa: Our Home Town” a film based on 1947-1948 film footage of Wauwatosa.  Wauwatosa in 1947 was filled with summer pool fun, winter snowstorms, community performances, and parades – just like today. However, that year, people swam in a completely different pool, the snowstorm was record-breaking, the performances were as popular as television was becoming at that time, and the parades featured some unusual marchers.

In the 1947 film “Wauwatosa: Our Home Town,” you’ll enjoy footage that showcases the beauty of our city, from flowers to houses. You will also see the hard-working city services, along with construction projects and school transportation. Holiday parades and summer recreational activities are featured, along with curling events, and church-going.
