WHS Annual Meeting with Special Presentation: The History of Hawks Nursery-Celebrating 150 Years in Wauwatosa

Join us for the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s Annual Meeting, where we will reflect on the past year, share plans for the year ahead, and introduce nominees for the 2026 open board positions.
Following the business meeting, enjoy a special presentation by Hawks Nursery owner Joe Kresl, who will share the remarkable 150-year history of Hawks Nursery. Founded in 1875, Hawks has grown from a small family-run nursery into a cornerstone of Wauwatosa’s landscape and community life. This lecture will highlight the nursery’s evolution through generations, its role in shaping local gardens and green spaces, and its enduring legacy as one of Wauwatosa’s longest-standing businesses.
We encourage both members and non-members to attend this event! Current members will be asked to participate in a vote to approve the new board nominees!
