Description

Aurora Psychiatric Hospital began in 1884 as the Milwaukee Sanitarium. It grew from a farm house and some out buildings to a multi acre complex today with a large hospital and numerous support buildings. Milwaukee Sanitarium was trendsetting with its care when it was established. Aurora Psychiatric Hospital continues that tradition and is proud to be a nationally known and well respected private psychiatric hospital in the 21st century.

Learn about the History of the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital during this tour of the hospital grounds. The tour will be led by Aurora Psychiatric Hospital Staff.

The tour will take about 45 minutes. Please note: We will be walking approximately a mile in total. Please wear appropriate footwear. Also, there are no public restrooms or water available.

Parking is available in the lower lot of Dewey Ave on the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital grounds. The tour will meet and begin at this lot.
