SUMMARY:Brews & Blooms Summer Beer Garden Series
DESCRIPTION:We’re back for another year of our beloved beer garden tradition with Brews & Blooms!\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat began years ago as a one-day Oktoberfest celebration\, Prosit!\, quickly became one of the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s most beloved community traditions. As we looked for new ways to build on that spirit of gathering\, we reimagined the event as Brews & Blooms — a summertime beer garden series designed to bring neighbors together while introducing new audiences to the beauty\, history\, and mission of the Wauwatosa Historical Society. \n\n\n\nNow in its third year\, Brews & Blooms transforms the grounds of the historic Kneeland-Walker House into a welcoming community gathering space where history and hospitality meet. Our goal is simple: create a place where people can slow down\, connect with one another\, and experience one of Wauwatosa’s most beautiful historic properties in a new way. \n\n\n\nCome grab a craft beer\, enjoy live music\, and play lawn games while catching up with friends and neighbors. Treat yourself to delicious offerings from local food trucks\, or pack a picnic to enjoy in the Victorian Gardens (please\, no carry-in alcohol). \n\n\n\nSeating is limited\, so feel free to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for the evening. We’ll have giant Jenga\, bags\, and other lawn games available for a little friendly competition. \n\n\n\nMore than just a beer garden\, Brews & Blooms is an opportunity to experience local history in a relaxed and meaningful way. By activating historic spaces through community events like Brews & Blooms\, we’re ensuring that history isn’t simply preserved—it’s experienced\, shared\, and enjoyed together. \n\n\n\nAnd the best part? Every purchase directly supports the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s mission to preserve\, share\, and celebrate our community’s stories for future generations. \n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us for an evening of good food\, great music\, and even better company as we celebrate summer in the gardens. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nBrews and Blooms will feature food trucks and live music every night\, tours of our 19th Century Schoolhouse on Saturdays\, and trivia on Sundays. \n\n\n\nFriday\, June 26 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm music by Jon Knudson of Driveway Thriftdwellers\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Salmon Diane Band\n\n\n\nFood Truck: Azteca\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, June 27 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm music by John Blair (of Torcado) \n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm 19th Century Schoolhouse Tours – $5 Tickets available at the Bar\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Bo Randall\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: Cocina Filipina & Fatty Patty\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, July 17 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm music by Miles Patzer (of Hosts)\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Kid Elephant\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: MKE Bento & Double Dubs\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, July 18 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm music by Caley Conway\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm 19th Century Schoolhouse Tours – $5 Tickets available at the Bar\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Chris Haise Band\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: Fatty Patty & Rose Mob Grill\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, July 19 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm Quizmaster Trivia\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Root to Sprout\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: Tots on the Street & Off Short MKE\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, August 21 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm Jason Burns (of Kid Elephant)\n\n\n\n7:30-9:30pm music by Stallis Cowboys\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: Tots on the Street & Mr. C’s Grill and Sushi\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 22 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm music by Robbie Sender\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm 19th Century Schoolhouse Tours – $5 Tickets available at the Bar\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Natalie Sue and the Steed\n\n\n\nFood Trucks: Kiss Korean BBQ & Heirloom\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, August 23 \n\n\n\n\n5:00pm-7:00pm Quizmaster Trivia\n\n\n\n7:30pm-9:30pm music by Violet Wilder\n\n\n\nFood Truck: MKE Bento\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you to this year’s presenting sponsor\, Thoughtful Craftsmen \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere are still sponsorship opportunities left.
SUMMARY:Guided Walking Tour of Wauwatosa Cemetery: Step into History
DESCRIPTION:Step into Wauwatosa’s past with a guided walking tour of the historic Wauwatosa Cemetery\, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2023. This special place tells the story of the people who shaped our community\, from early settlers to civic leaders whose names still appear on our streets\, parks\, and buildings today. \n\n\n\nThroughout the tour\, you’ll visit the final resting places of prominent families such as Clapp\, Fisher\, Gilbert\, Hart\, Harwood\, Hoyt\, Underwood\, Warren\, and Wheeler. You’ll also explore unique sections of the cemetery\, including those established by the Lutheran Kinderheim Society for children and the Lutheran Altenheim for adults\, offering a deeper look into the social history of the area. The cemetery is also home to veterans dating back to the Revolutionary War. \n\n\n\nTours are led by trained volunteers and offer a thoughtful\, engaging way to connect with local history. \n\n\n\nA few important things to keep in mind: \n\n\n\n\nWe’ll be walking through the cemetery\, which can be hilly and uneven\, so please wear comfortable\, sturdy footwear.\n\n\n\nThere are no public restrooms or water available on-site\, so plan accordingly.\n\n\n\nTours take place rain or shine\, so come prepared.\n\n\n\n\nMeet us at the Cemetery Chapel 10-15 minutes prior to the start time. \n\n\n\nPlease note: This tour is part of the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s ongoing partnerships with organizations across the city to preserve and share our local history. Proceeds from the tour\, minus administrative fees\, are forwarded directly to the Wauwatosa Cemetery to support the ongoing maintenance of the grounds\, roads\, and overall upkeep of this important historic space. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReserve your seat!
