The Wauwatosa Historical Society values the involvement of committed community members and invites you to become part of our active growing organization.
A benefit of membership to the Wauwatosa Historical Society is receiving the award-winning publication, Historic Wauwatosa. This publication is published six times each year, and includes information about Society events and activities, and features on Wauwatosa history.
As a WHS member, you will be entitled to reduced registration fees for all our adult education programs. After two consecutive years of paid membership, members can rent the Kneeland-Walker House at reduced rates. Annually, members receive a directory listing all members and dates of special events and educational programs for the upcoming year.
Several membership levels are available, starting as low as $10 per year. In addition, please take a look at the benefits of the “star” membership categories which entitles you to free tickets to special events, ongoing recognition as a patron, and perhaps a free rental of the Kneeland-Walker House and/or Grounds.
Please consider becoming a member of the Wauwatosa Historical Society. We look forward to including you in our exciting events.
Membership supports these ongoing projects and programs:
- Cataloging and maintaining of artifacts and archival materials
- Recreated 19th Century School House, which brings Wauwatosa second graders to the former hayloft of the Coach House, where they reenact a typical school day in early 1900's classroom
- Victorian Gardens, suitable for strolling or special events: our gardens were featured nationally on Home & Garden Television's "Great American Garden Series" in May 2003.
- Educational programs on restoration, preservation, genealogy, and local history
- Research library of resource materials relating to Wauwatosa's vivid history, now open to the public.
- Development of walking tours in Wauwatosa neighborhoods
- Sponsorship of annual Student Art Contest featuring Wauwatosa Landmarks
